This Week's Scripture

"Nor shall you bring an abomination into your house, lest you be doomed to destruction like it." Deuteronomy 7:26

This Week's Prayer!

We invite Your Holy Spirit to dwell in these rooms, which belongs to Henry, Anthony, Zoë, Asa, Rose, Grace, and Elijah, and in Heidi, Angel, and Angela's room. You are Lord over heaven and earth, and we proclaim that You are Lord over their rooms as well. Flood it with Your light and life. We pray that You, Lord, will make their rooms a holy place, sanctified for Your glory. And may You also dwell in our room and in each one of our extended family and friend's rooms.

Adoption Support Group Fellowship, Dress Top for me and New Sewing Pattern!

We had our adoption fellowship at our home last week! You can go to our orphan adoption blog and see all our blessings of the day! Also, our 4th was great..... no plans (I mean absolutely no plans)..... we did not even know what we were eating for lunch until Tommy went to the store at 10a that morning!! We sat outside relaxed and watched the little ones play in their kiddie pools and that was it..... so I have to say it was a great day!! Hope yours was great too!

Oh, and I have a new SewSensible sewing pattern that I released last week and I am actually working on a Women's Dress Top! I made a couple for me which I enjoyed so much!! I had to use whatever fabric I had so this one was made using different prints!

Swinging, Playing, Frogs, Bikes, Servolution, Movies, Fishing.....

Sun in our eyes!
A little over a week ago Tommy and I were going to take the children to see UP but we remembered that Elijah and Zoë do not make it through movies and I end up taking them out and missing the movie. So we decided to go to the movies two different days. Tommy and the boys went on Friday and me, Grace, and Rose went on Saturday. It was so much fun to spend time with them and to actually get to watch an entire movie and eat all the buttered popcorn I could eat!! Mom came to say hello to us before the movie!
Oh, and UP was excellent (except for the sad part!!)

Swinging together like we used to do but I believe they are almost too big for this!

Can you believe it?!!!!! Finally we have a garden! We LOVE IT!!!!! We have been eating the squash..... fried squash! Tomorrow we will have some cucumbers ready to pick and eat which Asa has been waiting patiently for. The beans are coming slowly but not as slow as the okra. The lettuce we have to say was yuk! I must have bought the wrong kind because the two I bought has a bite to it when you swallow. So what kind do I buy?

Grampa is giving Anthony a lesson in picking the sucker plants while we all admire the garden! I can't believe we did not do this a long time ago!!

Our Garden is growing, haircuts, new business venture!

I have to say that I am VERY excited about our garden and so are the children!! Here are pictures of us planting our seedlings in the rows! We have green beans, okra, cucumbers, squash (I am ready for this to fry! the okra too!) Mix greens and lettuce and white onions and red onions! no tomatoes because I am the only one that eats them!! We did not have enough room for the seeds we planted because I was hoping to do potatoes for Tommy. I'll have to see if I can do that in the fall? Anybody know?

The boys got their hair cut. Asa was the only one I took a picture of. Asa is REALLY into his hair and the way it looks. He does not like his curls/body and I keep telling him how awesome it is!! He wants his bangs to lay straight down on his forehead. If he only knew how cute his hair is with the curls/body!!

And my SewSensible news: I am in the process of tranfering all my patterns to an actual physical pattern to sell in stores!! This is so exciting! The picture of Grace above is wearing an outfit I made to send as a sample that will be displayed at the Pittsburg Quilt Market! This one is my Boutique Dress Top and Boutique Bottoms! I was able to finish looking over the details for three of my patterns today. I will be sending the Boutique Dress Top, Boutique Bottoms, and FAITH Double Layer Dress Top to press this week!! All God for sure!
"His Heart for Orphans" news: Our passion continues to be orphans and adoption. For more info on what is going on there click here!
Today Asa had a tball game but it got cancelled b/c of the rain. The windows are up, the wind is slightly blowing and it is 66 here. A cool front came through with this an hour ago. The smell of Chocolate Chip cookies is throughout the house while the boys are playing Mario Wii! I am updating this blog b/c my sweet husband said I neglect it since I have been twittering!!!!!

Happy Birthday, Rose and Asa!

Yesterday was Rose's 6th birthday. Asa's was 11 days ago but we celebrated them together with a crawfish boil/birthday party!! It was a little wet from the rain the day before but that did not stop the little ones from having fun and the adults from enjoying each others company! Wii game, Leapster games, dominoes, shirts, and pajamas, and lots of Hello Kitty stuff!! Those were some happy happy children!! And yay to the food: crawfish, garlic, mushrooms, corn and potatoes, bbq chicken and hotdogs, homemade ranch crackers and Sam's original hummus and of course the Hello Kitty cupcakes and the sports ball cupcakes!! All was good!!

Happy Birthday, sweet Rose!! It is a joy to watch you grow up into a little lady!!!!! You are such a blessing to us!! We love you! And happy birthday day (again) Asa!!!!! It's a Garden Party!! and a little fishing!

Saturday morning, Tommy and Asa went fishing at the pond across the street! Asa was so excited!

Yesterday we had a little Garden Party!! What is that?..... me and the children planting seeds! We first had to go to Home Depot and I decided I could not wait until Tommy got home so I went with our seven children that are at home and WOW everybody was great except Elijah (our 2 year old!) I mean, I could have just him and feel like I have 8!! Anyway, we got our seed starter pots, seeds, some plants, and some soil. After nap we planted! They loved this!! We planted okra, cucumbers, beans, lettuce, mix springs, squash, and garlic chives. I know we are a little late but they don't know that!! We hope to post the fruit of our labor one day. This weekend Tommy will get some soil and till our garden area and we will plant some more!

Anniversary blessings!

Our 10th Anniversary was awesome!! My Mom came over to watch the children and Tommy and I left and went Easter shopping and then had a beautiful delicious lunch at Copeland's. I had my usual Eggplant Pirogue and Tommy had his usual Catfish Acadiana! The food was awesome! We started with the crab claw appetizer! Nothing about it was fat free!! After eating the crab claws we drenched the bread in the delicious butter cream enriched sauce!! YUM!!

The day had many "special" moments! First just to spend time alone with Tommy was special and then while we were eating three Holy Spirit doves played right in front of our Copeland's window!! That is one of God's special blessings to me! And then we came home to a delicious strawberry cake decorated by our children! Mom had also found some of our weddding pictures and placed them around the cake and roses. Henry read the Anniversary prayer card from all of them and from my Mom while we all gathered around the kitchen island and then they gave us a present..... a beautiful and meaningful hummingbird feeder! This was not just any ordinary hummingbird feeder..... it was in the shape of a hot air balloon!! Tommy proposed to me in a hot air balloon so now you know why this particular hummingbird feeder is extraordinary!! Thanks, Mom and children!

Football, playdoh people, treasures, and blessings!

Here are some pictures of our blessings! The first one above is playdoh people Rose created and I think Grace is making a cake! Playdoh is one of their favorite things to do! The next one is a completed Noah's Ark big floor puzzle the Rohner's gave the children. They love puzzles! Ok, the next I had to show you. This is how Rose sleeps every night!! Looks like a mess but she actually has it very organized!! Notice the two blue pillows that blocks her bed entrance with the black and white dog cuddled under the blanket. Then there is the girls' vanity that she moves as close to her bed as possible along with the M c Donald's station that is not pictured but it is there. And then there is the shopping cart loaded with her treasures! Now the vanity is loaded with her "necessities" like the princess crown, her two bottles of lotion, some lip gloss and pretty much any piece of paper she could get her hands from the day!! No kidding!! There are pony tail holders, babydoll bottles, pencils and colors along with a baby brush, scarves, her princess slippers that she places between the wall and the bed. If you look to the right of the picture you can see the bottom of the pink slippers placed snuggly between the bed and wall! Now these are all the things in plain view. This is not counting all the stuff she hides under her blanket and pillow! No, we don't encourage this. I actually check under her pillow and blanket to remove toys but this morning I had to take a picture. She and Grace are my girly girls and the morning I took this photo, I was loving what I saw!!
And the last two pictures are more blessings! This is cousin Ethan and Asa at a college football game with their Dads!! This was a while back but I just got the picture yesterday.

Birthday pictures, awesome fellowship, and no blue kitchen!

Bye Bye, Blue!

I am finally putting the Birthday pictures up!! Just a great great beautiful day! Sam's is our new favorite place to buy cakes!! For less than $33 we had a half sheet princess cake that feeds 48 and 30 princess cupcakes to match! It was so beautiful and delicious!! It just made such a sweet presentation! Grandma and Grampa visited the day before and gave a great game that has been enjoyed so much by all the little ones. Grandmother CC gave some great books. Grace received a cute and fun princess sheet set from Mia and Annalyce and Ethan! She loves all of this. We gave her two real ballet outfits that she now wears ALL the time! My prayer is that Tommy and I enjoy everyday with our children..... everyday!! Below are some pictures from the adoption support group fellowship we had the same day. I actually snuck Grace's little birthday party in that day further in the backyard! Two great celebrations last Sunday: birth and adoption!!!!!

Just an absolutely beautiful day!!

Today is just an absolutely beautiful day!! We are all doing different jobs around the house preparing for our quarterly adoption support group fellowship tomorrow and our little Cheryl Grace turns 4 tomorrow!! Wow! I can not believe it has already been 4 years! I remember the day we went in to the hospital. I had been in labor all day but I did not even know it and we called the doctor and they said to come on in and get checked. We went in and I was 4 centimeters dilated!! They put me in right away. I had no idea. I remember the whole birth! Since I had been infertile for several years I remember just soaking up the whole experience. I am so blessed to be able to experience two miracles from God: adoption and birth!! It's a Wonderful Life!!

Here is a Birthday invitation we sent to a few people. Don't be offended if you did not get one. We never have a big birthday. Usually it is our children and some key people like the Grandparents and a few cousins. We usually keep it small and simple because of all the birthdays we have around here! We are going to have some delicious cake in the back while the fellowship is going on. A princess birthday cake, ballet outfit, cute cupcakes, a Jungle Jumper and lots of smiles and fun!

I'll definitely be posting the Birthday and fellowship pictures hopefully in the beginning of the week! And Tommy finished the backsplash in the kitchen!!!!! WoooHoooo! The blue is really gone! It looks awesome. The pictures are on my camera so I need to download them to get them here.
